Nowy Targ Energy Cluster — modernization and digitalization of the local energy market
The Energy Cluster in Nowy Targ is entering a phase of dynamic modernization, and the ECM ecosystem together with the Centre for Research and Development Future Solutions is becoming a key partner in this process. Based on a letter of intent, we join the structure of the existing cluster, initiating the process of its transformation into a modern, digital, and zero-emission energy ecosystem of the Podhale region.
At the same time, work has begun on developing a concept for adapting the cluster to operate as a dynamic, self-balancing local energy market, in which system participants can directly manage energy production, consumption, and flows.
Our main task is to adapt the cluster to operate based on digital telemetry, advanced energy process management systems, and a transparent settlement model between participants. As part of the activities carried out, training for cluster members has been conducted, and mapping of generation potential and energy demand has been performed, which constitutes the basis for further design of the local energy market model.
Planned implementations include the e-Vision energy management system, the ECM Ledger digital settlement system, and the development of a platform integrating cluster participants within one coherent operational environment. This approach will enable precise energy balancing, process automation, and optimization of system operating costs.
Nowy Targ has a structure with high potential, which we plan to strengthen through the integration of new technologies, process standardization, and preparation for the implementation of zero-emission energy sources. The modernization of the cluster will be carried out in stages, creating a stable foundation for local energy resilience, economic development, and reduction of operating costs for the municipality and its partners.
Cooperation in Nowy Targ is for us not only a technological project, but also a real step towards building a new model of local energy systems. Thanks to the combination of ECM’s experience, the R&D competences of Future Solutions, and the involvement of local partners, the cluster has the potential to become one of the first examples in Poland of implementing a dynamic energy market at the regional scale.
