Żarnowiec Ignites a Spark for Change

On 20 November 2025, in Żarnowiec, a letter of intent was signed, opening the door to dialogue and joint analyses aimed at the potential creation of a local Energy Cluster. This moment represents an important signal that another community is willing to actively shape its own energy future through conscious, responsible local decisions.

The letter of intent is a first — and very important — declaration of willingness to cooperate. The parties expressed a shared intention to jointly assess the region’s energy potential, analyse available options, and build the foundations for a cluster model adapted to local conditions and needs. It is an initial spark that may initiate a broader process of local energy transformation.

An increasing number of municipalities recognize that distributed energy systems, locally based renewable sources, and internal energy balancing are not only elements of the future but a present necessity. Initiatives like this offer local governments an opportunity to influence energy costs, strengthen energy security, and support regional economic development.

The next steps are expected to focus on supporting the local community and municipality through:

At this stage, the final shape of the Energy Cluster is not yet determined — it will be jointly defined through further dialogue and analysis. What is already visible, however, is openness, readiness, and genuine willingness to act.

What has begun in Żarnowiec is another example of local communities increasingly taking their energy future into their own hands.

For municipalities interested in initiating a similar process, we invite you to begin the conversation. Together, step by step, we can build local energy resilience where it is needed most.
